Three steps, no phone tag

The part most sites get wrong is the middle one: your details go to companies that can actually run your lane, not to whoever paid the most for the lead.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Taken from what visitors typed into Google to reach this site.

How much does it cost to ship a car to another state?+

Most interstate moves land between $790 and $1,960. Distance is the biggest factor, but not the way people expect: a fixed cost covers loading, paperwork and delivery whatever the distance, so a short haul works out around $1.66 a mile while a coast-to-coast run is nearer $0.65. An SUV runs about 7% over a sedan, a full-size pickup about 38%, and an enclosed trailer adds 21% to 39% depending on how far it goes.

How long does it take to ship a car to another state?+

Carriers cover 400 to 500 road miles a day. A regional move of 500 miles is typically 2 to 4 days, a 1,500-mile run 4 to 6 days, and coast to coast 7 to 9 days. Add 1 to 3 days for pickup once you book.

How can I transport my car to another state?+

You book an open or enclosed carrier, usually through a broker who posts your car on a national dispatch board. The truck collects at your door and delivers to the destination address. You do not travel with the vehicle.

Can I get my car shipped to another state without being there?+

Yes, but someone must release and receive the vehicle. Any adult you nominate can sign the bill of lading at each end. The carrier inspects the car with you at pickup and again at delivery.

Is it cheaper to ship a car or drive it?+

Under about 500 miles, driving usually wins. Past 1,000 miles, shipping is often cheaper once you count fuel, two or three nights of hotels, food, wear, and the days off work.

Can I put belongings in the car?+

Most carriers allow up to about 100 pounds in the trunk, below the window line. It is not covered by the carrier's cargo insurance, and overweight loads can be refused at pickup.

Do I pay before or after?+

The usual structure is a small deposit on booking and the balance to the driver at delivery, often in cash or certified funds. Be wary of anyone demanding the full amount up front.
