What this site is, and what it is not
The short version: we work out what a car shipment should cost, send your request to licensed companies, and show you what they come back with. We never touch the car.
We are not a motor carrier and not a licensed broker. We hold no FMCSA operating authority, we do not own trucks, we do not arrange loads and we never take custody of a vehicle. Anyone who tells you otherwise about this site is wrong. Every company you see here holds its own authority under its own MC number, and the contract for your shipment is with them, not with us.
How we make money
We do not charge you, and we do not take a commission on your shipment. The companies that receive your request do not pay to appear in the directory and cannot buy a better position in it — the listings come straight from the federal register and are ordered by what the register says, not by who paid.
What we intend to earn from is companies choosing to claim and maintain their own listing. That is the whole model, it is not running yet, and when it does it will not change which companies your request reaches or what order you see the quotes in. If that ever stops being true, this paragraph changes first.
Where the numbers come from
- The companies. 3,009 of them, 626 holding broker authority, taken from the FMCSA Licensing & Insurance register and the federal motor carrier census. Fleet size, driver counts, annual mileage and the date each authority was granted are that company’s own filing, not our opinion of them. Check any MC number on the FMCSA register yourself — we link it on every company page and tell you what to look for.
- The distances. Real road distances between the largest metro in each state, from a routing engine — not straight lines on a map. The page tells you which two cities it measured between.
- The prices. Fitted to 30 months of completed shipments published by a carrier marketplace, then indexed to the US weekly retail diesel average, last read 2026-09-07. They are estimates, they say so on every page, and a real quote from a real company can land either side of them.
- The lanes. 2,352 state-to-state routes, each with its own distance, price range and seasonal pattern. Prices differ by direction because the freight market does.
What we do with your details
A person reads every request before it goes anywhere. Companies receive your route, your vehicle and your dates — not your name, phone number or email. They reply through a private link, you see the quotes side by side, and you decide which of them ever gets your contact details. The full version is in the privacy policy.
